Pro-Aging! Secrets For Boomers To Rock Mid-Life!

“Pro-aging” is  making the most of the age you are! Here are a few “secrets” for finding your FIERCE self and rocking mid-life, Boomers!

Body

Begin by thinking, “Is this the fuel my body needs to operate at it’s best?” Place purpose behind what you eat. You’ve heard about the benefits of antioxidants? These powerful substances, which  come from the fresh fruits and vegetables we eat (among other things like nuts and even chocolate!) prohibit (and in some cases even prevent), the oxidation of other molecules in the body. The benefits of antioxidants are very important to good health, because if free radicals are left unchallenged, they can cause a wide range of illnesses and chronic diseases. Here are the top ten superfoods!Healthy food picture for boomers

Brain

There are hundreds of studies showing how exercise aids in gaining stamina and muscle strength, in addition to bone density, which decreases with age. Who knew that it also does incredible things for our BRAINS?! Exercise changes the brain in a unique way and protects memory and thinking skills. Exercise helps to improve our mood, sleep and reduces stress, all of which keep our brains strong.

Sleep is another factor that impacts our brain. Most people think that when you sleep, your brain goes to sleep too. But it turns out that parts of your brain are several times more active at night than during the daytime. One of them is a newly discovered drainage system called the glymphatic system, which is kind of like your city’s sewage and recycling system; its job is to clear out and recycle all your brain’s toxins.

Soul

If you haven’t discovered Yoga, it’s not too late! Today’s world is stressful. Yoga offers a great way to increase vitality, find serenity, and get the best out of each day. Yoga helps to lower stress levels and helps fight depression.

Recent studies show practicing yoga, combined with meditation, has a beneficial effect on conditions like high blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar level, arthritis, asthma, chronic fatigue, stress, anxiety and postural problems. The regular practice of yoga also works to improve self-esteem, boost your energy, and increase concentration and improves your heart.

Traditional yoga is about much more than just improving your physique – it’s a transformative and transcendent art, which aims to aid people in their spiritual journey. Read about 5 Ways Yoga Can Heal Your Soul.shutterstock_yoga for boomers
